TORONTO, Nov. 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Nutritional High International Inc. (“Nutritional High” or the “Company”) (CSE: EAT, OTCQB: SPLIF) is pleased to comment on the successful passing of the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Bill of 2019 (“MORE”) by the House Judiciary Committee.

Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted 24-10 to pass MORE, which has a high likelihood of approval in the House where Democrats control the chamber. The bill would effectively put an end to cannabis prohibition in the United States on the federal level by removing it from Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act, and past federal cannabis convictions would be expunged. Additionally, if fully passed, the law would allow the Small Business Administration to issue loans and grants to marijuana-related businesses, and provide a green light for physicians in the Veterans Affairs system to prescribe medical cannabis to patients, as long as they abide by state-specific laws.

“This is another promising step toward the monumental moment we have been waiting for – federal legalization of cannabis,” commented Adam Szweras, CEO of Nutritional High. “One of the challenges facing MSOs is the consolidation of operations across state borders. We are already in position to take advantage of legalization at the federal level with our robust distribution and manufacturing footprint. When state borders are no longer prohibitive, our various business segments will combine to be greater than the sum of the parts.”
